I noticed there are a few builds :
Raspberry Pi2 builds
WeTek Play / OpenELEC Box builds

I am interested in Adding-On TVheadend for PVR... I am looking to install to RPiii. Should these addon be accessible from the Raspberry Pi2 builds? It seems to be installed with the WeTek Play/OpenELEC build... Should I be using this WeTek build on a RPiii?

Anynet+ and OpeneElec on Samsung Smart TV (RaPi1) - by: lordgreg

Hi all,

I have no idea if there was an update of my OpenElec/Kodi in the past week but, I found out that all of the sudden, upon switching the source or App on my Samsung Smart TV (Going from HDMI1 where Kodi is) to Netflix app, Amazon App or any other app installed on TV, the TV itself says "disabling Anynet+ connection". After that, if I go back to HDMI1, the remote doesn't work, so I have to go back to SOURCE > HDMI1 and pick the XBMC from the view there, then it starts to work again.

I have no idea If there was something I did but I'm quite certain I didn't had this issue for at least past few months...

Can someone help me find out the reason?

My TV: Samsung UE50JU6450
OpenElec: 6.0.3 for Raspberry Pi 1
CEC adapter: libCEC 3.0.1 - firmware v1

HDMI-CEC stops working after I power off/on my tv - by: Jmaster

Hello everybody. I am using a Pi3 very much to my satisfaction. My problem is that when I am done watching something on tv, using my Pi3 as a media centre, I tun off my tv and (sometimes) my av receiver. When I then later turn on my TV again I cannot use my TV rc anymore to control the OpenElec on my Pi3. I then first have to reboot the Pi3, which is annoying since I want my Pi3 to always stay on. Is there a solution for this?

Will Install on ATV1 remove the original iOS? - by: rrack

K... I haven't messed with my old ATV1 for a long while. I've dusted it off and found that XBMC and Boxee no longer works. Nothing updates and all the add-ons give errors.

Looks like I need to change things up a bit. I'm looking at OpenELEC. I see that there are two install methods...on the ATV1 drive or USB stick. Just to clarify things for me... If I opt to install on the ATV1 drive, will it completely replace the original iOS software and boot directly to the OpenELEC? It appears that if using on a USB stick, unplugging and rebooting will revert to the original iOS. I wasn't sure if I would completely loose all functions of the original ATV and it's iOS.

After more research, I've go the itch again! I was going to sell this thing but the voice in my techie mind is telling me that it'll be fun again. Another quick question... The install says that it must be networked via ethernet. However, is the wifi disabled once everything is running? or is that after installing the crystal card...which I haven't done yet? Just getting ducks in a row before I attack this thing after work.

Thanks in advance!

Error in Mount_Flash on ATV1 ?? Help Por Favor! - by: rrack

I was successful in installing and running the hard drive version. However, I didn't like the idea that I completely lost the Mac stuff. I went thru the process and restored everything back to factory settings. I'm now trying the USB stick version and I'm stuck. I've tried several different sticks all with the same results. It appears to set up the ATV and partitioning but, it hangs at an "Error in mount_flash: mount_common...... see the pic below. I'm using the latest 6.0.1 found here: chewitt.openelec.tv/appletv/installer-mac.html

When rebooting I get the OpenELEC splash screen then the error a few seconds later.

EDIT:
Just realized now when rebooting without the USB stick, I'm asked for the language and to restore to factory settings...

Any tips?

It workes on HTPC1 and HTPC3, not on HTPC2 - by: thilde

G'day fine people

I hope somebody can help me, because I have no clue anymore.

1. I have 3 HTPC's. Through advancedsettings.xml they share the moviedatabase through a Synology/MariaDB.
2. This has worked perfect for years (hence, being happy about that, I donated beer to the good cause, OE and XBMC/Kodi devs :woohoo: ).
3. Suddenly, last week, HTPC2 was having weird problems (in the main GUI, select 'Movies' , OE suddenly shows 'waiting for network to connect' + 'extended wait for server to wake up'). However, HTPC1 and HTPC3 were not having any of these problems. Also, the Synology (1815+) was eating out of its nose (Dutch joke, means 'was bored' :P ) while serving the MySQL/MariaDB processes from the three HTPCs (so: I rule out any Synology problems). My netwerk is CAT6, gigabit to HP Procurve switches. Not much going on on my network anyway, so no performance bottlenecks there either.
4. I decided to upgrade all three HTPC's from OE 6.0.1 to 6.0.3. That went without problem., but the problem remained.
5. I reset all settings in the OE GUI, meaning I had to customize everything audiocard, video display etc, anew. I did.
6. Now comes the second weird thing:
7. I copied all config files from my working HTPC3 to this troublesome HTPC2. So advancedsettings.xml, sources.xml, profiles.xml, I copied them from HTPC3 (storage/.kodi/userdata/) to the problem HTPC2 (storage/.kodi/userdata/). I manually visually checked: yes, these files are the same on both HTPC's.
8. I reboot troublesome HTPC2: it does have an IP (192.168.2.32, static, normal), but it does not have the sources 'Movies', 'Series', so I also don't get, in the main OE screen, 'Movies', 'Series', etc. And of course therefore also not 'Recently added movies', 'recently added series', etc. (Btw I don't use any mods or skins or whatever: simply stock Confluence).
9. I can manually go to videos/add source, browse to my Synology (I use NFS), set the directory for Movies again, tell it it is Movies, select the right scraper, etc. OE doesn't remember these settings at all. I can do this a 1000 times, it doesn't remember the directory 'Movies' is type 'Movies' with scraper 'The Movie DB'. Whenever I return to it it is set to 'none'.

So:
A. I had something that worked for years. On 6.0.1.
B. Suddenly it was waiting for a 'network server to wake up etc'.
C. I reset everything, and then copied the config files from HTPC3. Rebooted.
D. What worked on HTPC3 does not work on HTPC2. Suddenly.
E. I have-no-clue.

Ah, I forgot:
F. I took my spare HTPC4 (same hardware as the other three) and put in the SSD of the troublesome HTPC2. This, to rule out some weird hardware problems (originally, I also ran memtest from USB stick for 24 hours, no problems, and I even put in another brand new Intel NIC to rule out NIC problems). HTPC4 with the SSD from problem-HTPC2 has exactly the same problem. So it is not hardware, but something somewhere on the HDD (= SSD) = something in OE.
G. I enabled debugging mode, I have all the logs here, but I have no clue what to look for. Where should I put the logs? Attach to this topic, or?

Could anybody perhaps help me out of my misery? I'm being very frustrated about this sudden very strange problem.

Thank you very much in advance

Im new to this as you can see, I have a laptop with hdmi going to my 47" LCD. The fresh install went good but the display once getting to OpenELEC is 60% of the screen. I have read allot about the xorg.conf file and so i created one with intel settings as shown in the Wiki. I put it in the /.config folder as well as tried a xorg.conf.new. It seems the system is not reading them because when i reboot i get nothing. The default seems to be the laptop screen(not even connected due to it has been broke) however when i do a xrandr HDMI shows as primary. I was able to get the FN F8 key to make it full screen one time but when reboot it was back to this.

Black screen after load - by: Jimsmonte80

I have been messing with this apple TV 1 openelec (6.0.1) load for a few days and can't seem to figure this out.
I created a USB patch stick with openelec 6.0.1 for a HDD install. I see the text on screen during the install and then finally gets "Installation Completed!" and "Ignore the warning below as we reboot" the screen flickers, the OPENELEC icon image comes up for a few seconds, flickers again, then dark. Then the screen goes dark, but dark like a HDMI video output is being sent, just no picture.

I had issues with this apple tv 1 and swapped out the harddrive (Pretty sure the HDD died). So this is not the original HDD installed and I know this should not matter. I have tried many different USB sticks, different computers to write the image, and different image writing utilities with the same issues. I did an openelec install with success on a different Apple TV 1 back in April, but I cannot figure this one out.

I have noticed during the install a few times when the openelec icon was up. In the upper left corner I received a message:

"Started OpenSSH server daemon"
"Reached target Multi-User System."
"Starting Xorg Server..."

I have not tried SSH into Apple TV, since I do not know the IP address.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Openelec on Apple TV 1 with a picky TV - by: Jimsmonte80

Why would openelec 6.0.1 on an Apple TV 1 be picky about what TV it is connected too?

I have 2 Apple TV's. One with the original harddrive and one with a replacement 20 GB harddrive. The replacement hard drive after being loaded with openelec 6.0.1, will not show video being connected to a Hitachi TV set via HDMI connection. If I swap drives around between the 2 apple TV's, the apple TV with the original HDD will load up and display video just fine, the replacement hard drive will not display video no matter what apple TV it is running in. However, if I run it on a different TV, it displays just fine. Is there a setting I can change via SSH to make it work with different TV's?

Below is a post I made with my video issues that I had no idea it was isolated to a certain TV.

So why does a replacement harddrive loaded with openelec on an Apple TV, cause video display issues?

Installstick issue plus other issues with Xtreamer - by: marlin178

Hi guys,
I'm hoping that someone can help out...

So last night Kodi was running perfectly on my Xtreamer Ultra, the icons all suddenly disappeared so I rebooted the device. When the device rebooted, the cursor just kept on blinking indefinitely.

At this point I decided to hold in the reset button on the Xtreamer.
Once I did this, when it rebooted, the following message appeared on the screen:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot Device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"

I did a bit of reading on the forum here and tried to create an Installstick- I then plugged this USB into the Xtreamer and after rebooting the device, the same message mentioned above appeared again.
I then took out the internal HDD from the Xtreamer and rebooted with the USB installstick- the same message mentioned above appeared again.
I then tried to access the BIOS but it wouldn't let me access it with the HDD installed so I took it out again and then managed to access the BIOS- changed the boot sequence to USB. Saved and Exited.
Inserted Installstick USB and the same message mentioned above appeared again.

Does anyone have any idea's as to what could be wrong?
What files should appear on the Installstick? - I've attached an image of what's currently on the Installstick.
[File Attachment: inst.JPG]

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Atmos Yes, DTS:X No - by: summDi

Hey all,

I´m just wondering: I´m running Openelec 6.0.1 on an Intel NUC i3 connected via HDMI to an Yamaha RX-A2050 receiver and from there via HDMI to an LG TV.

I can get Dolby Atmos to play just fine, but I´m not getting DTS:X. The receiver then just shows DTS HD Master Audio as incoming signal.
And I´m finding it curious that Openelec just shows the LG TV as a passthrough device, rather than showing the receiver (as I have seen with others).

Any ideas?
Chris

Edit: solved it. My DTS:X source was just mislabled and now I have one that streams just fine. Still the question about the passthrough device remains. But this topic can be deleted

New TV and my CEC Adapter has stopped working.... - by: stevep94

I've upgraded my TV from a Sony 46EX723 to a Sony 55XD8005 and I just can't figure out a way to make the TV remote work within OpenElec!?!?

It worked flawlessly on the old TV but while I still get the message on screen saying it's connected, I can't get any response from the OS with the remote and have to use the Yatse app on my phone to navigate.

I've been into the settings within OpenElec and made sure it's enabled etc but can't see a way of getting it to work!

The TV has "Bravia Sync" but when I click the sync button, only my PS4 and Sky inputs show up in the list!?!?!?

Anyone got any ideas??

Upgrading from B+ to 3 - by: RoccoJones

I've been running OE on my R.Pi B+ for over a year now, and I just got an R.Pi 3. I'd understand if I'd have to change a setting or 2, but I'd rather keep everything intact as I migrate. How can I do this? Googling for this stuff only gives me hits on how to update OE.

Auto / Scheduled Shutdown - by: DJ-1

Hi, was looking in LibreElec forum but thought I'd ask here as well since the 2 are fairly similar...

so I have a Intel nuc that is used for more than 1 thing...

By default it boots into an Ubuntu install that's for Usenet etc..

I use LibreElec on same nuc under a different partition...

It auto powers on every day via a rtc wake alarm in the morning (thus ready for Usenet at any time)

If I use LibreElec I don't wanna mess around with custom shutdown every time, is it possible to either via add-on or running a script have LibreElec auto shutdown daily at a set time?
(in case I forget.. As it needs to be in a off state for the rtc Alarm to wake it...☺)

Thanks.

Import error module six.moves in Nzbtomedia - by: nard

Hello,
Since last upgrade two days ago (bump to nzbtomedia 11.01), every postprocessing through nzbtomedia fail with The following message:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.service.audo/scripts/nzbToMedia.py", line 514, in <module>

File "/storage/.kodi/addons/script.service.audo/resources/nzbToMedia/core/__init__.py", line 33, in <module>
from six.moves import reload_module
ImportError: No module named six.moves

I'm running audo 1.26, on openelec 6.0.3.

Does anyone else got a similar issue ?

Edit : if I copy manually the file six.py to the program dir it fails on the next import :

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "core/__init__.py", line 36, in <module>
from core.autoProcess.autoProcessComics import autoProcessComics

So it looks like a problem due to invalid setting of the lib dir in __init__.py?
# init libs
PROGRAM_DIR = '/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.service.audo/scripts/'
LIBS_DIR = os.path.join(PROGRAM_DIR, 'libs')
sys.path.insert(1, '/storage/.kodi/addons/script.module.audo-dependencies/lib')

Thanks

3D MVC files - by: mm_half3

Hello,

Am testing a Rpi3 with the stable release version of OpenElec (6.0.3) to see if it can provide 3D playback. OpenElec was installed with the NOOBS like installer PINN, for some reason could never get the OpenElec images from the download section to boot on my Rpi3. Other than naming the file, are there any configuration steps required to get 3D mvc files to play in 3D? I have tried naming filename.sbs.mkv filename.mvc.mkv. Neither are playing the files as 3D on my panasonic ae8000 projector. When browsing to play the file it does have a 3D icon next to it in the kodi file manager.

At startup I am prompted with how I would like to play the file, and when I select same as movie, it plays in 2D. If I select change the mode, it either plays as 2D or blanks out the display until I stop the movie from the remote.

Note I tried the forum search, but can't seem to get the advanced search option to filter the results by category (e.g. Rpi forum). Even after selecting the Rpi forum and ensuring All categories is de-selected, my searches return results from the entire forum.

Note I have been trying to insert the mediaInfo text output in the post, but that function does not seem to be working...maybe because of my low post count. If needed I can paste the relevant info inline to the post.

Thanks
